Our Student's Values

Shares the responsibility and communicates effectively and confidently to accomplish a common goal. Consistently works with others to acquire information needed to complete a task or goal.

Adaptability

Displays the ability to be open-minded and engage in dialogue with others to consider multiple viewpoints. Brings a sense of courage to unfamiliar situations. Exhibits the ability to accept criticism, admit mistakes, and view failure as an opportunity to learn.

Civic Responsibility

Recorder Lessons

A child in a black hoodie plays a recorder while sitting on steps, with another child visible in the background.

Learning to play the recorder helps Brewster students develop critical thinking, perseverance, and adaptability as they read music, master finger placement, and practice rhythms. Through music, students build focus and confidence—key skills for lifelong learning.

Safari Art

A child holds a colorful, handcrafted dragon model made from various paper materials, showcasing vibrant designs and textures.

Through C.V. Starr’s African Safari art project, third graders demonstrated collaboration, observation, and perseverance as they planned, created, and shared materials to bring their favorite animals to life. Guided by art teacher Megan Naclerio, students explored self-expression while building key skills that reflect the Profile of a Brewster Student.

History Comes to Life

A group of children and adults dressed in historical attire, standing together beneath an American flag, outdoors on a sunny day.

At C.V. Starr’s Revolutionary War Encampment Day, fourth graders step into the shoes of Continental soldiers—setting up camp, cooking meals, and drilling as part of an immersive learning experience. This hands-on event helps students develop empathy, perseverance, and critical thinking as they explore the realities of the past and connect them to the world today.

Pride in Performance

Two children dressed in colorful traditional costumes, featuring vibrant patterns and accessories, stand against a warm, illuminated background.

Under the direction of music teachers Danielle Ortiz Welsh and Ryan Shelvin, students bring this beloved musical to life tonight at 6:00 pm in the BHS Performing Arts Center. Through their performance, students demonstrate collaboration by working as a team, perseverance through dedicated rehearsal, and adaptability by bringing characters to life on stage. This free event promises to be unforgettable—a true celebration of Brewster Pride!
